PRACTICAL
Research
I started by doing some research so that i can get an idea. I wanted to make something related to space and after doing some digging i found some references that peaked my interest

Sketch
I made the sketch where the concept is that there is door and the door opens to reveal a space with objects floating around in it.

Digitalization
I started by taking a picture of myself closing my eyes.
Figure 3.4 Picture of myself
I started by placing a space background and then putting stars on in so that there is more variety on the background.

Figure 3.6 Space background
After that i searched up some other elements that i think will fit my work and started the cropping process in photoshop.
Figure 3.7 Cropping the elements
After im done cropping, i compiled them into one composition. I just scatter the object elements in the background because the placement doesn't really matter.
Figure 3.8 Compiling the elements
Next i made a door by using the shape tool and putting it above other layers so that it covers the whole screen. Its made with 3 rectangles and a circle for the door knob.
Figure 3.9 Door object
After that, I imported it to Adobe After Effects and started the animating process by putting keyframes to the door shape and making a distortion to the shape so that it looks like a swinging door.
Figure 3.10 Door keyframes
Next i made the door shadow by using the pen tool. I put some keyframes and change the shape as it opens so the shadow follows the door movements. I also put a gradient fill so that it looks proper like the space background.

Next i made a lighting adjustment for myself using the pen tool and made a gradient ramp keyframe so that it is more realistic.
Figure 3.12 Lighting adjustment
Next i made scribble animation on my eyes using the brush tool and set the frame to every 5 frames.

And finally i put a simple rotation and position keyframe animation on the background objects, put a glow animation on the moon so it is not too bland and added a door opening sound as well as adding background music.

REFLECTION
For this final project, the thing that is the most challenging is finding the idea itself because we have to think about on how to execute it well. I manage to make something that has an intriguing process behind it, i wanted to make something that is straightforward but still have some complexity tied to it and i am really happy with this work because i manage to somewhat nail it. Overall i really enjoyed this class and i am quite sad that it ended, it taught me so many things and it will definitely help on my journey as a creative media student.
