INSTRUCTION

EXERCISES

At first i placed the video and the sound effects im gonna use. I clean the sound effects so that i don't get confused by it because the length varies.

Figure 2.1 Adding sound effects

I added sound effects and ambience that i found on several platforms, downloaded them, and placed them inside adobe premiere. I added some sound effects such as a studio reverb and pitch shifter, did some adjustments also fix the audio volume so that they sound right.

Next i did some dubbing. I launch an application called Audacity, an audio recorder. Next, i exported the audio and placed it inside Adobe Premiere Pro, cut the audio accordingly and place them based on the subtitles and frames.

Figure 2.3 Voice dubbing process

I gave the audio effects so that i can achieve specific sounding voices and enhance the audio. I used a pitch shifter and a feature in Adobe Premiere where they provide specific presets for the voices. After that i fix the audio volumes and then i am done.

Sound Shaping Exercise

I made a cave sound effect by mainly changing the decay in the reverb section.

The phone call effect was achieved by playing around with the midrange, bass and treble.

Figure 2.8 Phone call sound effect

I did a muffled sound effect by playing around with the treble and midrange. I kept the bass at the same range as the phone call sound effect one.

Figure 2.9 Muffled sound effect

For the alien sound effect, i had to play around with several different parts including the echo as well as pitch shift to make it weird, flanger to make it sound warbly, and reverb to achieve an alien atmosphere.

REFLECTION

This project is very intriguing because i never expected to dub something, so it was a whole new experience for me, i don't think it's for me though because i did a very terrible job at making the voice sound somewhat good but it was quite a fun process and considering it is my first time doing it, i guess the outcome is fine or somewhat acceptable.
