REFLECTION

Damn, what a ride it has been. This was a top-notch experience, and everything I’ve learned will most likely be applied in the near future—because that’s just how important typography is. I used to see typography as something small and simple, and I never thought there were so many components that come into play when creating good type.

My lecturer was also amazing. I honestly don’t think there could’ve been a better choice to teach typography than Mr. Vinod. He has both the personality and skill to guide students through this subject. Back then, I used to think he was a bit unfair and odd in his teaching methods—but now, looking back, I realize the reason he teaches that way is because he wants us to go beyond the basics. And honestly, I think it’s a brilliant way to teach.

As creative students, we need to take risks—whether something turns out good or bad, appealing or not, we’ll never know unless we try. From this, I’ve learned a new way to see things and how to approach them more boldly.

Overall, this was a great module with its own challenges and I’ll definitely miss Mr. Vinod’s jokes and humor in class
